Tired, drained, exhausted, or depressed?
When our energy levels are decreased
our body is not operating at its highest potential.
These warning signals are known as fatigue.
Fatigue and lack of energy are one of the most common complaints in doctor’s offices. Millions of people suffer from fatigue daily, and although it may be common, it is not normal. America is one of the most caffeinated and least active countries in the world, why are so many people suffering from low energy? Fatigue may have many causes ranging from diet and medications to physical and emotional stress. It is important not to get discouraged -there is hope!
Many of us sit all day at work and are still fatigued at night or in the morning.
Why does sitting seven to eight hours a day make us tired?
The reason is, as we sit at work, we put our elbows on the desk, relax our shoulders, and allow our head to fall forward. This actually produces a major stress on our spine, muscles, and nervous system. Studies show that for every inch our head carries forward, it is like adding an additional ten pounds of weight the muscles must fight to hold up. As the muscles fight to hold the position of our head they need to work overtime, expending great amounts of energy and leading to fatigue. This is a concern to chiropractors because as our posture changes so does the alignment of the spine. When the bones in our spine move out of proper alignment it puts pressure and stress on our nerves, called subluxations. This stress on the nervous system causes an alteration in nerve function and contributes to an individual’s fatigue and decreased energy.
Human beings are meant to move!
When our energy levels are decreased, our body is not operating at its highest potential. Chiropractic care is a hands-on, natural approach to increasing the body’s ability to perform at its optimum level. Chiropractors remove stress on the nervous system, allowing proper communication between the brain and the body. Chiropractors perform adjustments to the vertebra in the spine in order to restore proper nerve function. You don’t have to suffer – the first step toward living is yours to make. It is important that you and your family get checked by a chiropractor to see if there is a neurological component affecting your energy levels. Take action and get your life and energy back!
